Wabanaki Way

‍Travelling the Wabanaki Way not only identifies and preserves Wabanaki knowledge from the territory encompassed by current day New Brunswick, but it does so from the perspective of Wabanaki people self-determining how their own heritage might be managed and exhibited.

Exhibit

The Wabanaki people self-determining how their own knowledge systems embraced, thereby signalling a retreat from past approaches where Indigenous culture curated only by colonial powers.

Wabanaki knowledge is not stagnant; nor is it disappeared.

In this travelling exhibit of ageless Indigenous heritage are learning their shared history and, hopefully, changing the future, as the Wabanaki Peace and Friendship Treaties, the Keluwoskap creation stories, the natural medicines, and an understanding of the colonial history that happened here is a central part of moving forward, together, toward a reconciled and just world.
